Steven, a TikTok content creator and performer, is set to make his television debut in the new Channel 4 reality series Apocalypse, which premieres tonight at 9 p.m. The show places contestants in a fictional riverside town where they must rely on resourcefulness and teamwork to survive challenging conditions.

A graduate of the former Adam Smith College in acting and performance, Steven initially worked in call centres before establishing a successful online presence. Since 2016, he has created humorous videos on platforms such as TikTok and Vine alongside full-time employment at Sky. One of his viral clips, a lipstick challenge that garnered over a million views in 2019, helped boost his profile and transition into self-employment over the past eight years.

Steven applied to appear on Apocalypse after seeing an advertisement on Instagram just five days before the application deadline. He described the rapid decision as beneficial, noting it allowed him to commit without overthinking. The experience of scavenging for food over the month-long shoot reportedly led him to lose up to five stone and develop a newfound craving for Doritos.

Drawing on his upbringing as the youngest of eight siblings in a lively household, Steven emphasized the importance of creating a “family” on the show. Despite inevitable tensions, he said participants needed to support one another to endure the pressures of the environment. His Scottish background, characterized by a blend of humor and honesty, he believes helped foster camaraderie and openness among the group.

Although his career has revolved around producing short videos on his phone, Steven said he enjoyed connecting with people and lifting morale, whether through social media or in the more direct setting of Apocalypse. He expressed ambitions to expand into television presenting and comedy writing, adding that he would welcome opportunities on dance shows such as Strictly Come Dancing.

Reflecting on the show’s challenges, Steven remarked that if he could endure the intensity of Apocalypse, he felt prepared to take on any future projects in entertainment.
