Shafali Verma’s innings was marked by aggressive strokeplay, as she reached her maiden white-ball international hundred off the very last ball of the innings. Her 49-ball stay included nine sixes and three boundaries, setting a target that proved insurmountable for Bangladesh. Earlier in the innings, Smriti Mandhana provided a brisk start with 37 runs off 19 balls, during which she also became the leading run-scorer in women’s T20Is. Harmanpreet Kaur helped maintain the momentum with a 40-run effort from 33 deliveries.

In response, Bangladesh struggled to build partnerships, finishing at 81 all out. Dilara Akter top-scored with 27 runs, while opening partner Juairiya Ferdous was dismissed without scoring.
