Indian actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s fragrance brand, Secret Alchemist, has surpassed a significant revenue milestone, reportedly exceeding INR 1,200 million. The brand, which she co-founded alongside Ankita Thadani and Akash Valia, has experienced substantial growth, expanding eightfold over the past eight months.

Samantha has attributed part of her business direction to her personal health journey. After being diagnosed with myositis, an inflammatory muscle condition, she began reassessing her priorities and identity beyond her acting career. This experience prompted her to pursue ventures that align more closely with her values, particularly in the realm of wellness and product integrity.

Her interest in cleaner, healthier fragrances developed following medical advice to adopt a lifestyle minimizing exposure to harsh chemicals. During this period, Samantha refrained from using conventional perfumes for nearly two years as she became more conscious of ingredients. Subsequently, her return to fragrances was marked by a preference for products that combined efficacy with wellness benefits, leading her to develop Secret Alchemist’s line of aromatherapy-based blends.

Samantha cited her collaboration with Ankita Thadani as a key factor in the brand’s success, highlighting Thadani’s expertise in fragrance formulation and product development. The company maintains a focus on both the quality of scent and the cleaner formulations, reflecting evolving consumer demands for transparency and health-consciousness in beauty products.

Reflecting on her entrepreneurial experiences, Samantha acknowledged that her initial business partnership ended unsuccessfully but provided important lessons. She emphasized the challenges inherent in building a brand, noting that while success draws public attention, the setbacks and learning curves behind it often go unrecognized. Patience, resilience, and continuous improvement are, she said, essential to sustained growth.

In addition to Secret Alchemist, Samantha is involved with several other ventures, including Saaki, a contemporary Indian women’s fashion and lifestyle brand; Mile Collective, a lifestyle and activewear line; and Gataca, a supplement brand. On the cinematic front, she was recently linked with the film Maa Inti Bangaaram, directed by BV Nandini Reddy, which has reportedly grossed over INR 1,000 million worldwide.
