Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has appointed Arrmanatha Nasir as the country’s new minister of foreign affairs in a recent cabinet reshuffle. Nasir, a senior diplomat with extensive experience, including serving as Indonesia’s deputy foreign minister and as the permanent representative to the United Nations, will succeed Sugiono in the foreign affairs post.

The change was formalized when President Prabowo submitted a letter to parliament on September 30 proposing the ministerial adjustment. Following the reshuffle, Sugiono was reassigned as the coordinating minister for human development and culture.

In addition to the foreign ministry appointment, the president named Suyudi Ario Seto as the new chief of the National Police. Seto previously led Indonesia’s National Narcotics Agency. The cabinet changes come amid ongoing efforts by the government to strengthen its administrative leadership and address various domestic and international priorities.
