Industrial companies listed on the Muscat Stock Exchange posted a significant increase in net profits during the first half of 2026, with combined earnings rising nearly 47% compared to the same period last year. Preliminary financial results showed the sector’s total net profit reaching approximately RO 175.30 million, up from RO 119.40 million in the first six months of 2025.
The growth was driven by stronger performance in key industries such as fertilisers, petrochemicals, food production, and cement manufacturing. Increased demand for locally made products, expanded export volumes, lower financing costs, and improved operating efficiencies contributed to the positive results.
Oman India Fertiliser led the sector with net profits climbing to RO 80.20 million, up from RO 54.10 million a year earlier. OQ Base Industries also reported a substantial gain, with net earnings rising to RO 43.30 million from RO 23.40 million.
Other notable contributors included Oman Cables Industry, which recorded a slight increase in net profit to RO 11.40 million from RO 11.30 million, and Voltamp Energy, whose earnings grew to over RO 7.00 million compared with RO 6.80 million. Oman Flour Mills saw a more pronounced rise, with net profits reaching roughly RO 6.90 million, up from RO 4.30 million.
The cement sector benefitted from heightened demand linked to construction and real estate activity. Oman Cement’s net profit rose to about RO 6.90 million from RO 4.70 million. Raysut Cement returned to profitability, reporting earnings of RO 2.70 million after posting a loss of RO 2.50 million in the first half of 2025.
Galfar Engineering and Contracting delivered one of the strongest percentage increases, with net profit growing to RO 2.50 million from just RO 71,000 the previous year. Dhofar Food and Investment also reported a notable surge in profit, reaching about RO 2.20 million compared to RO 332,000, while Gulf Mushroom Products increased net earnings to more than RO 1.60 million from RO 1.10 million.
Several companies, including Raysut Cement and Building Materials Industries, moved from losses to profitability during the six-month period, underscoring the overall positive momentum in Oman’s industrial sector during the first half of 2026.
