Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser al Harrasi, Oman’s Minister of Information, recognized a group of students and media professionals during a visit to the Governorate of Al Sharqiyah South on Sunday. The minister honored students from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Sur who took part in a media gathering titled "Al Sharqiyah South: A Sustainable Impact." In addition, employees of the Department of Communication and Media in the governorate were acknowledged for their contributions to advancing media work in the region.
During the visit, Dr. Al Harrasi received a briefing on key media achievements, initiatives, and programs implemented by the Al Sharqiyah South Governorate. Particular emphasis was placed on the ongoing measures aimed at strengthening the reach and effectiveness of the media message across the area.
The minister’s engagement included a meeting with Dr. Yahya bin Badr al Maawali, Governor of Al Sharqiyah South, where they reviewed current media efforts within the governorate. Discussions focused on strategies to develop media operations further and enhance their role in supporting local development initiatives.
The visit reflects the Ministry of Information’s commitment to fostering media growth and recognizing the efforts of those contributing to communication and information dissemination at both educational and governmental levels in Al Sharqiyah South.
