Jacob Morley, a 28-year-old inmate serving a life sentence for the killing of a co-worker four years ago, escaped from the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, Tennessee, late Sunday. The Tennessee Department of Correction reported that officials discovered Morley was missing around 11:30 p.m.

Authorities reviewed security footage, confirming that Morley left the facility while wearing his prison uniform, though details on how he managed to slip through the prison fence have not been disclosed. The Northwest Correctional Complex is located roughly 90 miles north of Memphis, in a remote, rural area near a bend in the Mississippi River close to the Missouri border.

Following the escape, prison officials offered a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to Morley's arrest. Local law enforcement agencies have conducted searches of buildings near the prison as part of the ongoing efforts to locate the fugitive.

Morley is described as being 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 240 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. Authorities have not provided further updates on the manhunt.
