National Productivity Day 2026 was observed in Mirpur, Dhaka, with a focus on the need to enhance innovation and skills to boost the country’s overall productivity. The event included an innovation fair featuring projects developed by students that aim to address various national challenges.

Speaking at the event, the industries secretary emphasized that productivity involves increasing output and achieving desired results more efficiently by making optimal use of available resources. He highlighted that the main goal of improving productivity is to maximize the use of the country’s existing resources and capabilities.

These included initiatives leveraging artificial intelligence, waste reduction techniques, electricity generation from waste, and the conversion of waste into fertilizer.
