A new initiative aimed at showcasing Omani business achievements and promoting the Sultanate as a destination for foreign investment was launched recently by Mefriend, a digital platform affiliated with a regional media group, with strategic backing from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI).
Unveiled during a press conference held at the OCCI headquarters in Muscat, the ‘Inspire Oman’ campaign intends to highlight notable economic and social successes within Oman, both domestically and internationally, while aligning with the country’s Vision 2040 economic development goals. The event was attended by key figures including Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of OCCI; OCCI board members Shaikh Saud bin Ahmed al Nahari and Abdul Latif Mohiuddin Khonji; representatives from Mefriend; and various entrepreneurs and business leaders.
Al Rawas emphasized the significance of Omani success stories as fundamental assets of the national economy. He stated that every successful venture, entrepreneur, investor, and institution contributing to Oman’s development represents a narrative worthy of documentation and global sharing. He also characterized Oman as a reliable and attractive environment for business and investment.
Khonji highlighted that the initiative aims to provide a holistic view of Oman’s investment landscape by showcasing economic achievements and sharing insights from entrepreneurs and national companies. He noted that cultivating a compelling national narrative through these stories could bolster investor confidence and enhance the overall business climate.
The ‘Inspire Oman’ initiative is structured around three core components: a commemorative publication that will capture significant business milestones and leadership experiences; a digital campaign titled “Celebrating the Experience,” which will feature a series of videos, interviews, and success stories across online platforms; and the “Inspire Oman Investors Summit,” planned as a forum for dialogue, networking, and strategic collaboration among government officials, experts, and investors from Oman, India, and other countries.
Mohammed Ambalan, director of Mefriend, explained that the initiative seeks not only to document Omani success stories but also to distill and transmit the expertise and lessons learned from these experiences. He emphasized that the project aims to foster a culture of innovation and ambition among future generations of entrepreneurs and business leaders in Oman.
