A new initiative aimed at highlighting Omani business success stories and promoting the Sultanate as a prime investment destination was launched in Muscat this week. The project, named “Inspire Oman,” was introduced by Mefriend, a digital platform affiliated with a regional media group, in strategic partnership with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI).

The initiative seeks to showcase exemplary achievements in Oman’s economic and social sectors, both within the country and internationally, aligning its objectives with the goals set out in Oman Vision 2040. By documenting and sharing these success stories, the organizers hope to attract foreign investment and foster a positive image of the Sultanate’s rapidly evolving business environment.

The announcement took place during a press conference at the OCCI headquarters in Muscat, where key figures including Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of the OCCI; Shaikh Saud bin Ahmed al Nahari, OCCI board member; and Abdul Latif Mohiuddin Khonji, chairman of the chamber’s Foreign Investment Committee, were in attendance. Several entrepreneurs and representatives from Mefriend also participated.

Al Rawas emphasized the importance of celebrating Omani economic achievements, noting that each entrepreneur, investor, and institution contributing to national development forms a vital success story deserving wider recognition. He further described Oman as an attractive hub for business and reliable investment partnerships.

Khonji underlined the initiative’s goal to provide a comprehensive portrayal of Oman’s investment climate by illustrating the experiences of local entrepreneurs and companies, while spotlighting investment opportunities across diverse sectors. He highlighted that fostering a strong national narrative could enhance investor confidence and optimize the overall business atmosphere.

The Inspire Oman initiative is structured around three main components. The first is a commemorative publication designed to chronicle significant business journeys, milestones, and leadership insights. The second involves a digital campaign titled “Celebrating the Experience,” which will distribute videos, interviews, and success stories through multiple online channels. The third element is the planned “Inspire Oman Investors Summit,” intended to bring together officials, industry experts, and investors from Oman, India, and other countries for strategic discussions, networking, and collaboration opportunities.

Mohammed Ambalan, director of Mefriend, explained that the initiative aims not only to record Omani success stories but also to disseminate the lessons learned from these experiences. He emphasized the importance of transferring knowledge to nurture a culture of innovation and ambition among future generations in Oman.
