Kuwaiti students who recently earned medals at the International Earth Science Olympiad in Turin, Italy, were formally recognized by Kuwait’s Education Minister Jalal Al-Tabtabaei in a ceremony held on Wednesday. The event took place at the ministry's headquarters and included the presence of several ministry officials.

Al-Tabtabaei praised the students for their dedication and scientific capabilities, highlighting their achievements as a source of national pride. He emphasized that their success reflects Kuwait’s tradition of fostering talented individuals who can compete and excel on the global stage.

The minister underscored the ministry’s commitment to investing in gifted students, noting that early identification and specialized training programs are critical to nurturing their abilities. He pointed out that such accomplishments result from the combined efforts of students, families, supervisors, and educational institutions, demonstrating the importance of collaboration in supporting academic excellence.

Al-Tabtabaei also acknowledged the work of the team’s supervisors, Geology Supervisors Abdullah Al-Maqseed and Nora Al-Wanda, for their roles in training and preparing the students for international competition.

The delegation recognized during the ceremony included students Talal Al-Mutairi, Ghalia Al-Enezi, Narjes Sebti, and Kawthar Al-Qattan. The minister affirmed that the Ministry of Education will continue to facilitate opportunities for high-achieving students to participate in international scientific events, aiming to bolster Kuwait’s presence in scientific fields and promote a culture of innovation and excellence among youth.
