Qatar’s Ministry of Interior announced on Monday that investigations are ongoing into an accident at a factory located in Ras Laffan Industrial City. The incident, which occurred due to a technical malfunction during operations, resulted in 13 fatalities and 66 injuries involving individuals of various nationalities.
Authorities are working to establish the precise technical causes of the malfunction and to determine the necessary legal and technical measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. Following the accident, security authorities and emergency response teams at Ras Laffan Industrial City promptly activated approved emergency protocols. The injured were transported to medical facilities for treatment, and search operations at the site have been completed.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that no leaks or hazards posing risks to public safety or the environment were detected at the scene. The ministry expressed its condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and conveyed wishes for the swift recovery of those injured.
