Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (MoI) has confirmed that investigations are ongoing into an incident at a factory in Ras Laffan Industrial City that occurred due to a technical malfunction during operations. The incident, which took place recently, resulted in 13 fatalities and 66 injuries involving people of various nationalities.
Authorities from the MoI stated that the investigation aims to identify the precise technical causes of the malfunction and to ensure that appropriate legal and technical measures are implemented in response. Security personnel and emergency response teams promptly activated approved emergency procedures following the event. The injured were transported to medical facilities for treatment, and search operations at the factory site have been completed.
Officials emphasized that no leaks or hazards threatening public safety or the environment were detected during or after the incident. The Ministry extended its condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished a swift recovery to those injured.
