Iran secured a straight-sets victory over Chinese Taipei, winning 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-17) in their latest match at the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U17 World Championship held in Doha, Qatar on Sunday. Led by Sina Hazrati, who scored 15 points, Iran continued their strong performance in Pool E. For Chinese Taipei, Po Wei Huang contributed seven points.

Iran’s team, coached by Arash Sadeghiani, had previously recorded 3-0 wins against both Algeria and Pakistan in the tournament’s opening matches. These results ensured Iran’s progression to the Round of 16, where the top two teams from each pool, along with the four best third-placed teams across all pools, advance.

The championship features 24 national teams divided into six pools of four squads each, competing from August 19 to 29. This global event offers rising volleyball talents their first major international platform to compete and gain exposure.

Iran, historically strong in youth volleyball, aims to build on its tradition of success in age-group competitions by advancing deep into the tournament. The previous edition in 2024 saw Italy claim the title after defeating Argentina in the final. As the 2026 competition unfolds, Iran is positioned among the contenders hoping to challenge for a podium finish and establish itself firmly among the world’s leading emerging volleyball nations.
