Israeli military operations on Sunday resulted in the deaths of at least four Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, according to local health officials. One person was killed near the central village of Al-Mughraqa by an Israeli airstrike, while two others died from gunfire and tank shelling near Gaza City. In a separate incident, a 40-year-old woman was fatally shot in Khan Younis, located in the southern part of the territory. The Israeli military stated it was not aware of any operations in that area at the time of the reported killing and said it was investigating other alleged strikes.
Since Friday, Israeli forces have reported targeting and killing several militants in Gaza amid ongoing hostilities. Violent incidents in the Gaza Strip have continued despite a ceasefire agreement reached in October 2025, with Israel conducting near-daily attacks on Palestinian targets. Local medical sources report that at least 800 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025.
Health authorities in Gaza also reported that over the past 24 hours, hospitals received two new fatalities and treated 11 injured persons. Since the initiation of hostilities on October 7, 2023, medical sources say the death toll in the Gaza Strip has climbed to 72,587, with injuries totaling 172,381. In terms of casualties during the latest ceasefire period, the numbers stand at 811 deaths and 2,278 wounded, with 761 bodies recovered from beneath rubble.
The ongoing violence and humanitarian toll underscore the fragility of the ceasefire and the broader conflict that has persisted for nearly three years. Both sides continue to exchange blame, with the Israeli military describing its strikes as counterterrorism efforts, while Palestinian authorities emphasize civilian casualties and infrastructure damage.
