Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip killed at least five Palestinians on Monday, according to local health officials. The first strike targeted a gathering near the municipal public park in Gaza City, an area densely populated with displaced families, resulting in two deaths and several injuries. Later in the day, another air strike hit a vehicle in the Tel Al Hawa neighborhood in western Gaza City, killing three more people.

At Al Shifa Hospital, Gaza’s largest medical facility, mourners held funeral ceremonies for two of the victims before proceeding with their burials. Relatives expressed ongoing distress over the continued violence in the enclave. “There is no ceasefire. There is not one good day in Gaza since October 7, 2023,” said Amjad Abu Abdo, a family member of one of the men killed in the first strike. He added that the constant sound of drones has fostered widespread fear and unrest among residents.

Hamas has accused Israel of breaching the ceasefire and hindering efforts to implement a broader peace plan proposed by former US President Donald Trump. This plan includes provisions for Israeli military withdrawal and the disarmament of Hamas, aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Both sides remain entrenched as violence persists, contributing to the continuation of hostilities in the region.
