Israeli forces conducted a widespread campaign of arrests across the West Bank early Saturday, detaining at least 66 Palestinians in multiple locations, according to local officials and Palestinian authorities.

In Nablus, Israeli troops detained 30 individuals from the village of Tell, located south of the city. Additional arrests took place in Ramallah, where four Palestinians from the towns of Akrabein, Sinjil, Al-Mughayyir, and Deir Abu Mash’al were taken into custody. Five Palestinians were detained in Jenin, while military operations in Hebron involved raids on several towns and villages, resulting in further arrests.

In Bethlehem, three Palestinians were reportedly detained, and five others were arrested in Tulkarm. Israeli police also carried out a raid in the town of Al-Eizariya, south of Jerusalem, where a local resident was taken into custody.

The day’s operations followed continued unrest in the region. Palestinian sources reported that three Palestinians were killed and others injured in Israeli strikes targeting Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip on the same day.

One notable aspect of the raids was the reported search of a hospital in Nablus. Ghassan Barkat, director of Nablus Specialty Hospital, told journalists that more than 50 armed soldiers and officers entered the facility, causing distress among patients.

Amin Shuman, president of the Palestinian Higher Commission for the Affairs of Prisoners, stated that over 80 Palestinians were arrested throughout the territory over the weekend. He described the arrests as "an attempt to impose collective punitive measures and retaliatory policies" following recent escalations.

The West Bank and East Jerusalem remain under Israeli control since the 1967 Six-Day War. The territories, together with the Gaza Strip, are claimed by Palestinians for a future independent state. Approximately 700,000 Israeli settlers currently reside in settlements considered illegal under international law, though Israel disputes this designation.

The latest round of arrests comes amid ongoing friction and a complex security environment in the region, with both sides blaming each other for the continuing cycle of violence. Israeli authorities have yet to release a formal statement detailing the precise motives behind the operations on Saturday.
