At least four Palestinians were killed in separate incidents involving Israeli strikes and gunfire in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, according to health officials and medics. Among the victims were a married couple and a 17-year-old boy.

An Israeli airstrike targeted an apartment in Gaza City, killing Akram Yassin and his wife, Dina Abu Baker. The Israeli military confirmed it had struck a militant in the area but provided no further details. In the southern city of Khan Younis, a 17-year-old boy was reportedly killed by Israeli gunfire near the Qizan Al-Najar neighborhood. Another individual was also killed by gunfire in the Zeitoun suburb east of Gaza City. Israeli forces did not immediately comment on these two incidents.

Residents in Gaza City gathered to inspect the damage caused by the airstrike and to attend the funeral for the couple. Mahmoud Yassin, whose brother was among the dead, expressed frustration about the ongoing violence despite a ceasefire agreement. "We’re supposed to be in a ceasefire period, but honestly, we are not seeing a ceasefire or anything. The war is still going on, assassinations are continuing, and the shelling has not stopped," he said.

The ceasefire arrangement, brokered by the United States a year ago, aimed to bring an end to hostilities and promote reconstruction efforts in Gaza. However, progress on implementing the deal has been limited. Israel has accused Hamas of violating the truce by rearming and conducting attacks within the territory. Hamas denies these allegations and contends that Israel is undermining the peace agreement.

Since the ceasefire took effect, Gaza health authorities report that at least 1,500 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire. On the Israeli side, four soldiers have died in attacks carried out by militants in Gaza during the same period. The continued violence underscores the fragility of the ceasefire and the complex challenges facing efforts to achieve lasting peace in the region.
