Ja Rule has requested a rematch following his loss to celebrity chef Kwame Onwuachi in a closest-to-the-pin golf competition held during the seventh annual Celebrity Chefs & Friends Golf, Tennis & Pickleball Tournament. The event, organized by Herb Karlitz to benefit the food rescue organization City Harvest, faced delays due to inclement weather, forcing the competitors to settle their challenge indoors on a golf simulator at Montclair Golf Club.

The tournament, initially planned as an outdoor event, was postponed twice because of rain, prompting the switch to an indoor venue for the golf showdown between the rapper and the chef. Despite the change in setting, Ja Rule expressed dissatisfaction with his performance and quickly called for another match, which has been scheduled for the following Sunday.

In addition to his participation in the golf contest, Ja Rule also entertained attendees with live performances of his hit songs “Mesmerize” and “New York” before a sold-out audience. The Celebrity Chefs & Friends event combines sporting activities such as golf, tennis, and pickleball with live entertainment and culinary experiences, raising funds to support City Harvest’s efforts to combat food insecurity.

The annual tournament, now in its seventh year, continues to draw a mix of celebrities and public figures, underscoring the growing prominence of philanthropy-driven sporting events in the New York area. This year’s competition once again highlighted both athletic skill and community engagement, with the planned rematch between Ja Rule and Onwuachi adding an extra layer of anticipation for event organizers and attendees alike.
