Brissett took over as the Cardinals’ starting quarterback last season following a season-ending foot injury to Kyler Murray. Over 12 games, he threw for 3,366 yards, 23 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Despite his individual performance, the team finished 1-11 in those contests.

Head coach Mike LaFleur confirmed the deal was finalized before the team’s Sunday practice and indicated that Brissett is expected to start in Week 1 of the upcoming season. LaFleur also noted that Brissett would soon begin working with the starters, signaling his role as the primary quarterback moving forward. The Cardinals’ other quarterback options include veteran Gardner Minshew and rookie Carson Beck.
