Vickrum Digwa, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of 18-year-old Henry Nowak, along with his father and brother, appeared in court to plead not guilty to multiple weapons offences. The 23-year-old Digwa attended the hearing by videolink from HMP Frankland, while his father, Moga Singh, 52, and brother, Gurpreet Digwa, 27, both from Southampton, were present at Southampton Magistrates’ Court.
The charges relate to an incident dated December 4, 2025, the day after Henry Nowak was killed. All three defendants face several counts of possessing offensive weapons, including 37 swords, three machetes, three ninja swords, two flick-knives (also described as gravity knives), eight knuckledusters, an axe, an extendable baton, and a manriki-gusari, a traditional Japanese fighting chain. These alleged offences reportedly occurred at the family home on St Denys Road, Southampton.
Gurpreet Digwa faces additional charges beyond those shared with his father and brother. These include possession of offensive weapons in a public place—in particular, possessing an extendable baton, a kirpan, an axe, and an air weapon found in a vehicle located on Belmont Road. Gurpreet denied four such additional charges during the hearing.
The court was also informed of an amended charge involving the possession of three push daggers at a private location. However, District Judge Henry Gordon did not require the defendants to enter pleas for this count immediately, citing the need for clarification on the amendment’s details and whether the charge was issued within the statutory time limit of six months.
A trial date has been scheduled for September 27, 2027. Additionally, a case management hearing will take place on June 4 to discuss procedural and preparatory matters ahead of the trial. The defendants continue to deny all allegations related to the weapons offences.
