James Nelson-Joyce will reprise his role as Liverpool crime boss Michael Kavanagh in the upcoming second series of the BBC gangland drama This City Is Ours. The character, who had previously attempted to leave his criminal past behind by fleeing to Spain with his partner Diana, played by Hannah Onslow, finds himself drawn back into the dangerous world he sought to escape.

The new series introduces several fresh faces to the ensemble cast. Shaun Evans, known for his role in Endeavour, joins as Ozzie Thompson, a former gangster recently released from prison. Álvaro Morte, recognized for his performance in Money Heist, appears as Felipe Guzman, a Colombian cartel member and younger brother of Ricardo, whose death was a key event at the end of the first series.

Returning cast members include Julie Graham reprising her role as Elaine Phelan, Laura Aikman as accountant Rachel, and Saoirse-Monica Jackson as Cheryl. The second series is scheduled to premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on October 25.
