The Mumbai crime branch has arrested a woman cricketer affiliated with the Jammu & Kashmir T-20 League, along with her brother, in connection with an alleged sextortion case involving a 28-year-old businessman from Colaba. The two suspects were detained at a hotel in New Delhi, while an associate identified as Uddin Imtiyaz Wani, 22, was apprehended later in Srinagar.

The individuals taken into custody are Farkhanda Aziz Khan, 30, and her brother Bazil Aziz Khan, 27. The case centers on allegations that Khan initiated contact with the complainant in 2024 while he was residing in Mumbai’s western suburbs. Their relationship developed through mobile communications, during which Khan reportedly engaged in explicit conversations and introduced her brother and Wani to the businessman.

Authorities allege that Khan demanded money from the victim, citing financial difficulties. After the businessman declined to comply, Khan allegedly threatened to make their private chats public. Under pressure, the complainant transferred a total of ₹23.61 lakh through 32 bank transactions between April 30, 2024, and January 13, 2025, to Khan’s bank account. It was further found that a significant portion of these funds was routed to Wani’s account, while some were traced to the account of the suspects’ father, Abdul Aziz Khan.

The investigation indicates that Wani and Bazil Aziz Khan also pressured the businessman, claiming to possess incriminating screenshots of his conversations with Khan and warning him of severe consequences, including imprisonment. These threats reportedly compelled the complainant to transfer an additional ₹40 lakh to the suspects in January 2025. The first recorded transaction associated with the case was ₹20,000 in April 2024.

Farkhanda Aziz Khan is based in DLT, Ankur Vihar, Delhi NCR; Wani resides in Khalapur, Jammu and Kashmir; and Bazil Khan is from Nurkhaw Village, Jammu and Kashmir. Following the complaint, the West Region Cyber Police Station in Mumbai registered a First Information Report (FIR) and continues to investigate the matter.
