Former New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul indicated his availability to the team following the news that linebacker Brian Burns will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn ACL.

On Monday, the 37-year-old Pierre-Paul posted a message on the social media platform X tagging the Giants with the phrase, “@Giants what’s up.” This came shortly after Burns’ injury was announced, potentially opening a roster spot for defensive reinforcements.

Pierre-Paul, a first-round pick by the Giants in 2010, played for the franchise through the 2017 season. During his tenure with New York, he earned an All-Pro selection and was chosen for the Pro Bowl three times. He was part of the Giants team that won Super Bowl XLVI against the New England Patriots in the 2011 season. Later in his career, Pierre-Paul secured a second Super Bowl ring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the 2020 season.

After nearly two years away from professional football, Pierre-Paul reentered the league with the Buccaneers in late 2025. He signed to their practice squad in December and was activated for three games toward the end of the season.

With Burns sidelined, the Giants may consider bringing in experienced defensive players such as Pierre-Paul to bolster their lineup as the season progresses.
