Jerry Kelly secured his third senior major title by winning the Senior British Open on Sunday at Gleneagles, Scotland. The 59-year-old American finished the tournament at 10-under-par 270, edging out the competition by two strokes on the Kings course.

Kelly carded a 2-under 68 in the final round, which included four birdies and two bogeys. His performance on the closing holes proved decisive, allowing him to clinch the title and claim the senior Claret Jug, a trophy he described as highly coveted among golfers over 50.

“This is the trophy that I’ve wanted as an over-50 golfer other than any other,” Kelly said after his victory. He added that winning in Scotland, regarded as the home of golf, was especially meaningful. The win also earned Kelly an entry into next year’s 155th British Open, set to be held at the historic St Andrews course.

Kelly’s previous senior major victories include the Senior Players Championship titles in 2020 and 2022, further cementing his status among the top senior golfers. His success at Gleneagles marked another milestone in a distinguished senior career.
