Jerry Kelly secured his third senior major title by winning the Senior British Open on Sunday at The King’s course in Gleneagles, Auchterarder, Scotland. The 59-year-old golfer posted a final round of 2-under-par 68, finishing with a total score of 10-under 270 to claim the tournament by two strokes.

Kelly entered the final round tied for the lead with Cameron Percy of Australia and maintained a steady performance throughout. After starting the day with two birdies through the first five holes, Kelly registered his first bogey at the sixth hole but quickly rebounded with a birdie at the eighth. Another bogey at the 11th was followed by a series of six pars, setting the stage for a decisive finish on the par-5 18th hole.

With a one-shot lead standing on the last hole, Kelly found a greenside bunker with his second shot. Demonstrating precise control, he executed a delicate bunker shot to within four feet of the hole and then sank the putt to secure a birdie. That final stroke extended his lead to two shots over runners-up Matt Gogel, Darren Fichardt of South Africa, and Cameron Percy, who tied for second place.

This victory marked Kelly’s first Senior British Open title and his third major championship win on the PGA Tour Champions circuit. It also represented his 15th overall victory on the Champions Tour. Reflecting on his win, Kelly called the trophy “the senior claret jug” and emphasized the significance of capturing it at the historic home of golf in Scotland.

The Senior British Open, the fifth and concluding major of the Champions Tour season, drew a competitive field, with Kelly showcasing resilience and experience to pull away in the closing stages. His consistent play throughout the tournament and composure under pressure on the final hole were key factors in sealing the victory.
