Jessica Carter Dawson has paid an emotional tribute to her late husband, Jaryd Dawson, on what would have been their second wedding anniversary. In an Instagram post shared on the anniversary, Jessica reflected on their time together and expressed her grief over Jaryd’s absence.

“Two years ago today we committed to the rest of our lives together,” she wrote, accompanied by photos from their wedding day. She added, “How fitting I am posting this listening to the pouring rain. Not so fitting that you’re not here to reminisce and have a champagne with me. My heart hurts that bit extra today. Miss you so much.”

Jaryd, 35, was reported missing in April after last being seen in Robe. His body was later found, prompting a wave of condolences from family, friends, and supporters. His brother, Jordan Dawson, who captains the Adelaide Crows football team, responded to Jessica’s post with heart emojis, as did others offering their support.

The anniversary marked a particularly poignant moment for the family, coming just two days after the first birthday of their son, Hudson. Jessica also shared images from Hudson’s birthday party, which featured a teddy bear theme complete with balloons and cupcakes, attended by loved ones. In her message, she described Hudson as “curious, fun and determined,” adding, “You are sweet and affectionate, and make everyone around you laugh. Being your mum is the best thing to ever happen to me.”

Jessica and Jaryd were married in late 2024 and welcomed Hudson in September of last year. The family had marked a period of joy before the tragic loss of Jaryd earlier this year.
