A group of jet skiers known as the NYC Pirates played a critical role in rescuing a teenager who jumped from the Brooklyn Bridge on Wednesday. The 19-year-old was pulled from the East River shortly after entering the water and later transported to a hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.

The incident occurred in the early afternoon when the teen leapt from the bridge into the river below. Members of the NYC Pirates, who are often noted for their lively presence on the water, quickly responded to the emergency. Witness footage captured the group navigating the choppy waters to reach the teenager, with one jet skier notably jumping into the river to assist in transferring the individual onto a rescue boat.

James Reichelt, president of the NYC Pirates, described the moment as intense and unexpected. “It was like, ‘holy s--t, did that just happen?’ It was pretty crazy,” he said.

After the rescue, the group handed the teenager over to responding police officers, who ensured he received timely medical attention. Authorities confirmed that the young man’s condition was stable following the incident.

The swift action of the jet skiers has drawn attention, as the group is typically recognized for their spirited behavior rather than emergency response. Their intervention in this case was credited with helping to save the teenager’s life. Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the jump.
