The New York Jets ended a three-game losing streak with a 17-12 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The game, played under rainy conditions, saw the Jets capitalize on key turnovers and strong defensive pressure to halt the Browns’ three-game winning run.

Rookie running back Braelon Allen scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter, breaking a tie after Cleveland lost possession on a mishandled punt snap. Allen broke through the left side for a 22-yard run, energizing the home crowd and giving New York a critical lead.

The Jets' defense was a significant factor in the win, accumulating eight sacks against Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson. Rookie defensive end David Bailey accounted for three of those sacks, consistently disrupting Cleveland’s offensive rhythm. Will McDonald also made a pivotal play late in the game by strip-sacking Watson on a crucial fourth down and recovering the fumble, sealing the Jets' victory.

On offense, Jets quarterback Geno Smith connected with wide receiver Garrett Wilson for a touchdown on the team’s opening drive, setting the tone early. Despite their struggles, New York managed to mount an effective offensive effort throughout the game.

The Browns took their first lead when Watson found rookie receiver Denzel Boston for a touchdown, part of Watson’s 155 passing yards. However, the Browns were hampered by a missed extra point by kicker Andre Szmyt, which left the score at 12-10 with just over six minutes remaining in the game.

The Browns briefly regained possession after a strip-sack on Smith forced by linebacker Carson Schwesinger, with linebacker Adin Huntington recovering the ball. However, New York’s defense held firm, forcing a three-and-out. A costly error then occurred for Cleveland when punter Corey Bojorquez mishandled a high snap from Rex Sunahara in the rain, allowing Trevin Wallace to recover the ball for the Jets and set up Allen’s decisive touchdown run.

With 1:41 left on the clock and no timeouts remaining, the Browns mounted a final drive but were unable to score against the resilient Jets defense.

New York improved to 2-3 on the season, ending their losing streak and handing the Browns their first loss in four games, dropping Cleveland to 3-2. The victory provides a boost for the Jets as they look to build momentum moving forward.
