Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and journalist Nidhi Razdan have married, marking a new chapter in their personal lives. The couple publicly announced their marriage through social media posts on Saturday, a day after the ceremony took place.
Abdullah shared photographs with Razdan on the platform X, stating, "A new journey began yesterday." Razdan also acknowledged the occasion with a casual message, "It’s done bro."
The marriage was registered under the Special Marriage Act in New Delhi on Friday, according to sources cited by local media. Family members from both sides reportedly attended the ceremony as witnesses.
This development comes approximately three months after the Supreme Court of India dissolved Omar Abdullah’s previous marriage to Payal Abdullah by mutual consent on July 31, 2026. The former couple, who were married in September 1994, had been living separately for several years prior to the official separation.
Nidhi Razdan is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience covering Indian politics, foreign affairs, and significant events across the Indian subcontinent. She has contributed opinion pieces to several outlets, including a column titled "This Side of the Story," providing insights into Indian political dynamics and electoral processes.
