Comedian and podcaster Joanne McNally revealed that she faced some pushback from producers after vaping inside Ardross Castle during the filming of the second season of the reality show Celebrity Traitors. The series, which is set to air in October, was shot last month at the historic castle located in the Scottish Highlands.
McNally, known for her stand-up comedy and podcasts, was seen using an e-cigarette outside the castle walls alongside fellow contestant and model Jerry Hall. Speaking on BBC Radio 2, she shared her experience, noting that while the castle's atmosphere lived up to expectations, vaping inside the venue was not allowed. “We had a ball … It was just as castle-y as I thought it might be, but you can’t vape in it, I learnt that, they don’t like that!” she said. McNally added that she was permitted to vape outside the castle's front entrance.
The incident highlights the production’s adherence to strict indoor policies during filming, consistent with the preservation and respect often required in historic settings. Despite the brief hiccup, McNally emphasized the enjoyable experience of participating in the show. Celebrity Traitors remains a notable reality series that challenges contestants with tasks and social dynamics set against grand historical backdrops.
