KUWAIT — The Joint Command and Staff College marked the graduation of its 30th course on Wednesday, underscoring its ongoing role in developing senior military leadership. The ceremony, held under the patronage of Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, was attended by high-ranking military and security officials, including Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Shuraiaan and other key figures.

In his address, Sheikh Abdullah described the college as a vital institution for preparing commanders with the expertise needed to enhance leadership skills and support effective decision-making across all levels of military operations. He encouraged the graduates to apply the knowledge and training acquired during the program to practical military scenarios while continuing to advance their professional development for the benefit of national defense and military readiness.

The graduating class consisted of 118 officers: 59 from the Kuwaiti Army, seven from the Ministry of Interior, 10 from the National Guard, and 42 from allied forces. Notably, this cohort included the first female officer from the Ministry of Interior to complete the course, highlighting gradual progress in gender representation. Sheikh Abdullah also praised the presence of officers from the Ministry of Interior and the National Guard alongside participants from friendly nations, emphasizing the college’s role in fostering regional military cooperation.

Brigadier General Bader Al-Zaabi, Assistant Commandant of the college, outlined the institution’s development since its establishment, pointing to ongoing improvements in academic programs and training methods. He stressed that the curriculum is regularly updated to incorporate advances in military science and technology, including artificial intelligence and information systems. This approach aims to equip officers with enhanced capabilities in analysis, planning, and strategic decision-making grounded in professional standards.

The defense minister presented certificates and awards to graduates, recognizing top performers during the event. The ceremony highlighted efforts by the Mubarak Al-Abdullah Joint Command and Staff College’s leadership and faculty to align military education with contemporary operational and scientific developments, preparing highly qualified officers for the challenges facing the Kuwaiti armed forces.

Other senior attendees included Deputy Chief Major General (Pilot) Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Dr. Wael Nasser Al-Sabah, Director General of the Coast Guard Brigadier General (Navy) Mubarak Ali Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, and Brigadier General Abdullah Al-Khazi, Commander of Military and Security Affairs in the National Guard.
