Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has expressed his enthusiasm for acting, revealing a particular interest in playing the iconic role of James Bond. The 23-year-old England international, who has been making waves with his performances at the ongoing World Cup, spoke about his admiration for the film franchise during an appearance on Fox’s World Cup After Hours show with James Corden.

Bellingham, who scored in England’s 4-2 victory over Croatia and was named man of the match in the games against Ghana and Panama, shared that while his primary focus remains on emulating England legend Bobby Moore’s 1966 World Cup success, he also harbours ambitions outside of football. “People ask me, ‘What’s the thing I’d want to do out of football?’ and I never really give it that much thought,” Bellingham said. “But when I have, I always come to ‘I’d love to be in a film.’”

The midfielder, a self-described fan of the James Bond series, remarked that he has watched all the films and would relish the opportunity to appear in one, whether in a minor role or as the titular character. “I’d love to be James Bond,” he said. “I swear, I’d love to be in the back of a James Bond film. [Maybe] James Bond himself, but you’ve got to crawl before you can walk.” He also noted that a new actor has yet to be chosen to succeed Daniel Craig, who last appeared as Bond.

During the interview, Corden invited Bellingham to attempt Bond’s famous introduction line, “The name’s Bond, James Bond,” which the footballer delivered with enthusiasm, later joking, “I think I’ve got a shot!”

Bellingham’s comments come amid his rising profile on the world stage, both as a key player for Real Madrid and England’s national team. While his current focus remains firmly on football, his openness about future acting ambitions suggests potential avenues beyond his sporting career.
