KUWAIT CITY — The Court of Cassation is intensifying efforts to address the backlog of appeals and improve the timeliness of judicial decisions, according to Dr. Adel Bouresli, the court’s president. Speaking at the court’s General Assembly on Sunday, which marked the conclusion of the 2025/2026 judicial year, Bouresli highlighted the progress made in reducing pending cases.
He credited the dedication of court agents and advisors whose sustained work throughout the year, including morning and evening sessions as well as dedicated appeal review meetings, significantly decreased the number of unresolved appeals. Bouresli emphasized the importance of maintaining this momentum to fully eliminate the backlog and provide litigants with clear and stable legal resolutions.
Looking ahead, Bouresli noted that all chambers of the court are expected to be fully staffed by July, which will support ongoing efforts to complete judicial proceedings efficiently. He also referenced the upcoming judicial recess scheduled for July and August, assuring that work will continue to ensure the swift resolution of cases before and after the break.
