Jump racing is set to return to Towcester Racecourse starting in October 2027, marking its first fixtures there in a decade. The announcement in July confirmed that six jump racing meetings are scheduled for the 2027-28 season, following a partnership agreement between bookmaker Betway and racecourse owner Orchestrate.

Towcester, located in Northamptonshire, has a notable history within National Hunt racing, including being the venue where jockey Sir Anthony McCoy achieved his 4,000th career win. The return of jump racing has been welcomed by industry figures. Richard Thomas, chief executive of Orchestrate, noted that preparations are already underway to ready the track for the upcoming season.

Sir Anthony McCoy, a former multiple champion jockey, highlighted the significance of the course, describing Towcester as a “proper jumps track” with historical importance. He expressed optimism about the revival, emphasising that the ongoing investment could help re-establish Towcester as a key venue within the jump racing calendar.

The event marks a resurgence of jump racing activities at Towcester after a period marked by the absence of National Hunt events. The collaboration between Betway and Orchestrate indicates renewed commercial support for the racecourse, aiming to bolster its position in the sport.
