American high jumper JuVaughn Harrison secured victory at the inaugural Monaco Athletics Festival on Wednesday, delivering a world-leading jump of 2.34 meters to top the elite competition held at Quai Albert I on Port Hercule. The event, part of the What Gravity Tour—a global high jump circuit established by Qatari Olympic champion Mutaz Barshim in 2025—was designed to spotlight the discipline through dedicated standalone contests.

Harrison was the only athlete to clear 2.34 meters, marking a commanding finish against a field of 10 top-ranked jumpers. His fellow American Tyus Wilson claimed second place, achieving a personal best of 2.30 meters. Italy’s Christian Falocchi secured third on countback after clearing 2.27 meters.

Despite entering the event with a season best of 2.27 meters, Barshim, who founded the tour to enhance the profile of high jumping worldwide, finished ninth after clearing 2.10 meters before exiting the competition. The festival’s format differed from conventional athletic meetings by focusing exclusively on the high jump and assembling some of the world’s leading specialists, including Harrison, Wilson, and British athlete Romaine Beckford, along with Barshim.
