The tension traces back to a 2016 interview on Yee’s show “The Breakfast Club,” where K. Michelle confronted Yee over comments made by rappers Maino and Uncle Murda. These artists had previously discussed a rumor about the singer’s personal hygiene, which Michelle alleged Yee had revived during their interview, potentially harming the promotion of her album “More Issues Than Vogue.”

During that 2016 exchange, Michelle openly rebuked Yee, calling the remarks inappropriate and harmful. The confrontation was notable for its intensity, with Michelle visibly upset and pointing a finger at Yee during the discussion.

On Wednesday, when Michelle appeared again on “The Breakfast Club” to promote her new country album “Jesus & Whiskey,” iHeartRadio reportedly took precautions to prevent any direct interaction between her and Yee, who now hosts a show airing immediately after “The Breakfast Club.” Sources said Michelle was placed in a separate green room from where typical guests wait, positioned farther from Yee’s studio to avoid potential conflict.

Angela Yee has consistently stated she never intended to embarrass Michelle and chose not to escalate their prior on-air disagreement, believing arguing would be unproductive. An iHeartRadio representative confirmed that neither party requested security measures and that they did not encounter each other while at the studios.

Both K. Michelle and Angela Yee have yet to comment on the recent visit.
