South Korean K-pop artist Song Min-ho, also known as Mino of the boy band Winner, has been ordered to resume his military service following a recent court ruling, the Military Manpower Administration (MMA) announced on October 16. The decision came after the finalization of a legal verdict against Song earlier this month.

Song, 33, was found guilty of repeatedly failing to report for duty while serving as a social service agent at a facility in Seoul. Between March 2023 and December 2024, he was absent without authorization for 102 days out of a total 430 days of service. The court handed down a one-year prison sentence on October 1, suspended for two years. Song did not appeal the ruling.

In response to the verdict, Song issued a handwritten apology via Instagram on October 9, expressing regret for his actions and the disappointment caused to fellow servicemen and his fanbase.

The MMA has stated it will review the length of Song’s remaining military commitment and determine the appropriate placement for his continued service. This development concludes a series of proceedings centered on Song’s military obligations, which are compulsory for South Korean men and have become a significant issue for public figures and entertainers.
