KALA Art Kuwait is set to host the “Niram 2026” Children’s Day Painting Competition on November 13, 2026, at the Indian Community School in Khaitan. The event, which marks the 22nd anniversary of the Niram competition, coincides with Children’s Day celebrations and is open to all students attending Indian schools across Kuwait.

The contest is organized into four categories based on age groups: Group A includes students from Lower Kindergarten (LKG) to Grade 1, Group B covers Grades 2 to 4, Group C comprises Grades 5 to 7, and Group D includes Grades 8 to 12. The competition schedule staggers the sessions to accommodate these divisions, with the youngest groups starting at 1:00 pm and concluding by 4:15 pm for older participants. Additionally, there will be a Clay Modeling contest specifically for students in Grades 7 through 12, running concurrently with the later painting sessions.

Materials permitted for use vary by age: Groups A and B will create their artwork using crayons or colored pencils, while Groups C and D will work with watercolors. Participants are required to bring their own art supplies, though organizers will provide stamped drawing sheets and clay for the modeling contest.

The event also features a Marathon Open Canvas Painting session, inviting parents, guests, and visitors to engage in creative expression alongside the students. Prizes for this segment will be awarded as well.

Recognition for participants includes awards for first, second, and third places in each category, with top winners receiving a gold coin and gold medal, a silver medal, and a bronze medal respectively. All winners will also be presented with a memento and certificate. Beyond the primary awards, the competition will offer 75 merit prizes and consolation prizes to up to 10 percent of the contestants. Parents taking part in the Open Canvas Painting have the opportunity to win prizes as well.

The prize distribution ceremony is scheduled for December 11, 2026, at 2:30 pm, to be held again at the Indian Community School in Khaitan.

Online registration for the competition remains open until November 10, 2026. Those interested can find more information and register through KALA Art Kuwait’s official website or contact the organizers via email or phone.
