Kansas State extended its winning streak against Kansas to 18 games with a 35-24 victory Saturday in Manhattan. The Wildcats overcame several errors to secure the win over their in-state rivals, continuing a dominant run that dates back to 2008.

Quarterback Avery Johnson contributed significantly to the Wildcats' offense, passing for 203 yards and a touchdown. Johnson also added 132 yards on the ground, showcasing his dual-threat capabilities. Running back Joe Jackson led the rushing attack with 159 yards and one touchdown, while Rodney Fields Jr. chipped in 66 yards on the ground and a score.

The victory improves Kansas State’s record to 4-2 overall and 1-2 in Big 12 Conference play. Kansas fell to 2-4 overall and 0-3 in conference games, continuing a seven-coach span without a win over the Wildcats.

Despite several mistakes during the game, Kansas State capitalized on its offensive balance and held off Kansas in front of the home crowd. The Wildcats’ ability to sustain drives both on the ground and through the air proved decisive in maintaining their winning streak against their longtime rivals.
