Kathie Lee Gifford has listed her waterfront estate in Greenwich, Connecticut, for $100 million. The property, known as Cedar Cliff, is a Mediterranean-style mansion dating back to the 1930s. Located in the Riverside neighborhood about 40 miles north of New York City, the estate occupies nearly 3 acres on a peninsula extending into Long Island Sound.
The home encompasses more than 15,000 square feet and includes eight bedrooms, a swimming pool with an adjoining poolhouse, a tennis court, a private beach, and a dock with deep-water access. Purchased in 1994 by Gifford and her late husband, football star Frank Gifford, the estate originally cost $7.8 million. The couple undertook extensive renovations, including the addition of a three-story east wing featuring a new primary suite, a home theater, office space, and a wine cellar. A professional recording studio was also installed, allowing Gifford to continue her songwriting and broadcasting endeavors from the property.
Over the years, Cedar Cliff served as a venue for numerous charity events and screenings. Notably, segments of the “Today” show have been filmed in the estate’s backyard. Gifford has described her family life at the residence as akin to living on a “small farm” before the arrival of her daughter in 1993 prompted the search for a bigger waterfront home.
Following Frank Gifford’s death in 2015, Kathie Lee Gifford said the house felt quiet, and with her children residing in California, she eventually relocated to Nashville, Tennessee. Now, six years later, she has decided to put the estate on the market.
Leslie McElwreath, the Sotheby’s International Realty agent handling the listing, emphasized the property’s historic significance, prime location, and premium features, including the private beach and deep-water pier, as factors supporting the $100 million asking price. If sold at this price, the estate would rank among the highest-priced residential sales ever recorded in Connecticut. The property is part of a private association that includes access to the beach and dock facilities.
