This appearance followed by two days images of the pair sharing a private walk through the city fueled dating speculation. Perry confirmed the latter was the day they officially began their relationship, which started shortly after she ended a nine-year relationship with actor Orlando Bloom.

Reflecting on the period before their romance, Perry described it as a difficult time, saying she had endured “the lowest part” during her tour while also coping with being away from home for extended periods. She noted that traveling across continents for her tour meant experiencing three consecutive winters, contributing to her feelings of sadness and isolation.

Perry remarked that after this challenging phase, her personal life took a positive turn, using the metaphor of a rainbow following a hurricane to describe the change. She emphasized that Trudeau’s presence elevated her support system, presenting their connection as unlike any she had previously known.
