Katy Perry is set to release new concert content and is nearing completion of her eighth studio album as she continues her European tour. Fans will soon be able to watch two of her recent live shows: a performance from the Isle of MTV Malta concert on September 18 via MTV, and a concert film titled *The Lifetimes Tour: Live From Paris*, which will screen in 150 UK cinemas starting September 2. The two-hour film includes footage from her previous tour last year, featuring her biggest hits along with exclusive backstage material.
Her Lifetimes Tour, noted as one of her most ambitious, encompassed 91 shows across 23 countries, reaching over one million attendees. The tour also supported the Music Venue Trust in the UK, raising nearly £82,000 for the charity. The Isle of MTV Malta event, held at Il-Fosos Square, drew a crowd of approximately 30,000 and marked the 18th anniversary of the concert series in partnership with the Malta Tourism Authority.
Throughout her current European tour, Perry has been joined by former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who has been reported to follow her performances closely, even spending time with friends on a yacht between concerts. Perry publicly acknowledged Trudeau during the Malta show, dedicating her song “I’m His, He’s Mine” to him and expressing her happiness in his presence. Perry wore a vintage costume worn previously for an MTV VMAs advertisement in 2009 during the performance.
Perry has openly discussed the personal experiences influencing her upcoming album, which she says reflects a shift from her recent break-up with actor Orlando Bloom toward a new chapter inspired by her relationship with Trudeau. In a recent podcast interview, she described the album-making process as therapeutic, moving beyond the break-up themes explored in singles like “Bandaids” and “Watch It Burn.” Perry indicated these earlier songs captured “processing” emotions, but her new work will focus on a more positive outlook and personal growth.
The majority of the album was reportedly recorded earlier this year. While the working title *Scorpio Bitch* was considered, it may be altered to avoid projecting an overly aggressive image. Perry’s close sources suggest she feels this upcoming release will be her most affectionate and optimistic record to date, reflecting her current state of happiness and inspiration from her relationship with Trudeau.
