Bold Hoi Ho, a 10-year-old gelding by Niagara out of Konigin, has demonstrated consistent form in recent outings, positioning himself as a competitive runner at Coffs Harbour. Trained by Sally Taylor, the veteran racehorse has secured 14 wins, 13 seconds, and nine thirds from 36 starts, showing versatility across various distances ranging from 1,200 to 1,600 meters.

His performance on heavy tracks has been particularly noteworthy, with three victories and a place rate underscoring his ability to handle softer ground. Bold Hoi Ho’s results also highlight his aptitude for racing first-up and second-up, achieving two wins and two seconds in these conditions from 14 combined starts.

On June 28, Bold Hoi Ho finished second in an open handicap over 1,505 meters at Coffs Harbour, narrowly missing out by 0.8 lengths. Ridden by G Spokes and carrying 55 kilograms, the gelding settled in mid-pack early before advancing steadily through the race. Despite the heavy track conditions, he pushed the winner Baby Ryan, who carried 58 kilograms, to the wire.

Following this performance, Bold Hoi Ho was freshened with five weeks off before returning to competition. Known locally as a specialist with proven form on wet tracks, he faces a more challenging assignment going forward but remains a contender, especially when lightly weighted.
