A helicopter crash near Long Lellang STOLport in Ulu Baram, Sarawak, has resulted in the deaths of five individuals, including Dr. Ainul Baroah Kamaruddin from Kelantan. The incident involved a BO-105 helicopter operated under the Health Ministry’s Flying Doctor Service programme.

Dr. Ainul’s death was confirmed by her sister-in-law, Nureez Mohd Pauzi, who posted about the tragedy on social media, noting that she was preparing to travel to Sarawak following the crash. The identities of the other four victims have not yet been disclosed.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad stated that the helicopter carried four ministry personnel along with the pilot. The team was part of medical outreach efforts aimed at providing healthcare services to remote areas. Authorities launched search and rescue operations involving medical teams and the Fire and Rescue Department in response to the crash.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia confirmed it received notification of the incident from Flight Information Services at 3:58 p.m. on the day of the accident. Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
