Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, has been identified as a victim in a large-scale Ponzi scheme prosecuted in Missouri, according to court filings. The revelation came during proceedings on Tuesday in U.S. District Court in St. Louis, where prosecutors detailed the fraudulent activities of Siddharth Jawahar, an illegal immigrant convicted of orchestrating the scheme.

Jawahar, 38, pleaded guilty in January to three counts of wire fraud related to the scam, which defrauded investors of more than $35 million. The U.S. Attorney’s Office reported that Jawahar has been sentenced to 11 years in federal prison and ordered to pay more than $31 million in restitution to those affected by his fraud.

Court documents listed Kelce among the numerous individuals who suffered financial losses due to Jawahar’s operations, though specific details regarding the extent of Kelce’s losses or the nature of his involvement were not provided. Prosecutors also noted that Jawahar only invested approximately $10 million of the total $35 million raised during the period from July 2016 through December 2023.

The investigation highlights the widespread impact of the Ponzi scheme, which spanned several years and ensnared a variety of investors. Jawahar’s sentencing marks the culmination of a federal effort to hold him accountable for the elaborate fraud that depleted millions from victims.
