Kent Reliance is currently under investigation following multiple reports from customers experiencing difficulties transferring funds from fixed Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs) after maturity. One account holder from Bletchley, Buckinghamshire, reported that attempts to move their matured fixed ISA to two separate providers were both rejected, with Kent Reliance providing inconsistent explanations for the transfer issues.
The customer, identified only by initials M.R., described being given four different reasons for the refusal and expressed frustration over a lack of clarity regarding the whereabouts of their funds. Despite raising the issue directly with Kent Reliance, the customer alleges limited communication from the lender and an extended investigation timeline.
Kent Reliance has acknowledged the complaint, labeling it a “priority” while informing the customer that it will take up to eight weeks to complete the review. The provider has not offered further detailed commentary on the cause of the transfer problems or the status of the funds during this period.
ISA transfers typically allow savers to move their tax-free savings between providers without losing accrued interest, often after fixed-term accounts reach maturity. Problems in transferring funds can lead to delays in access and potential disruption for customers seeking to manage their investments.
Financial industry observers note that such issues, while relatively uncommon, can arise due to administrative errors, processing delays, or regulatory compliance checks. Customers affected by similar transfer difficulties are advised to maintain clear records and follow up regularly with their providers to ensure timely resolution.
Kent Reliance’s handling of the complaints and the outcome of the current investigation will be closely watched, as smooth ISA transfers remain a key element of consumer confidence in the UK’s savings market.
