Doha — Qatar’s Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, HE Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, met with Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal, Special Envoy of the Federal Chancellor of Austria, on Thursday to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.
The meeting focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between Qatar and Austria across various sectors. Both officials emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation and expanding ties in multiple fields to support mutual interests.
In addition to bilateral matters, the discussions addressed recent developments in the wider Middle East and the diplomatic efforts underway to reduce tensions and promote stability. A key topic was the security and freedom of international maritime navigation, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical corridor for global energy supplies.
Al Khulaifi reiterated Qatar’s commitment to supporting all diplomatic initiatives aimed at securing freedom of navigation and fostering a comprehensive agreement to establish sustainable peace in the region. Both sides agreed on the necessity of continued dialogue to uphold security and stability amid ongoing challenges.
The meeting underscores Qatar’s proactive role in regional diplomacy and its intent to collaborate with international partners to address shared concerns related to security and economic stability.
