The disappearance of Nancy, the mother of television journalist Savannah, remains unresolved more than a year after the initial kidnapping. Savannah publicly acknowledged in a recent video that her mother may have died but expressed hope for a miracle.

“We still believe that she can come home,” Savannah said, speaking emotionally about the ongoing ordeal. She also acknowledged the possibility that her mother might have passed away, referring to her faith and the hope that Nancy has “already gone home to the Lord that she loves.”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department released ransom notes linked to the case, aiming to generate new leads. According to the department, the communications display distinctive linguistic patterns, including unique word choices and syntax, offering insight into the author’s mindset and motives, as well as changes in tone over time. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward in the hope of advancing the investigation.

Savannah, who returned to host the Today show in April, has described the situation as “a nightmare that will not end.” She shared an Instagram video in which she described her family’s ongoing emotional distress and called on the kidnappers directly. “I know that you’ve tried to do things the right way, so I’m asking you, begging you to do the right thing now,” she said. “Tell us where to look for her. Help us bring this situation to an end.”

Despite the lack of resolution, Savannah affirmed her family’s commitment to finding Nancy. “We have done our part. We will never stop looking for her,” she said, underscoring the ongoing uncertainty and pain faced by those involved. The case remains open as authorities continue their search for answers.
