Kim Jong Un, the top leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), participated in the third meeting of company leaders within the Korean People’s Army (KPA) held from Thursday to Friday, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). The gathering was the first to involve the entire army following the Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), which recently concluded.

The meeting aimed to mobilize company leaders across the KPA to transform all units into “elite combat ranks” and “all-mission units capable of fulfilling any combat duty independently.” According to the official report, the gathering was intended as a foundational step toward strengthening the overall military force.

Kim, who serves as general secretary of the WPK and president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, emphasized the importance of building the strongest possible army. He highlighted the meeting’s main purpose as accelerating a Korean-style military revolution through the rigorous training of the KPA’s companies to enhance their combat readiness and operational autonomy.

This initiative reflects ongoing efforts by the DPRK leadership to modernize and intensify its military capabilities in line with strategic goals set during the recent WPK congress.
